theScore’s new headquarters at Toronto’s Waterfront Innovation Centre is a testament to modern design and functionality. Spanning 80,000 square feet, this state-of-the-art office offers stunning views of Lake Ontario and a thoughtfully curated workplace experience that prioritizes comfort, collaboration, and acoustics.
Previously housed in a historic brick-and-beam building, theScore aimed to retain elements of the industrial charm that fostered a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. To achieve this, the design team exposed ceiling decks and structural columns throughout the office, creating a lofty, urban vibe. This open design, while visually striking, presented significant acoustic challenges—a key consideration in ensuring employee comfort.
Maxxit’s Silentia felt products played a pivotal role in balancing the aesthetic and functional needs of the space. These innovative solutions provided the acoustic comfort necessary for a productive work environment while complementing theScore’s urban design:
- Silentia Profile Traditional Baffles are installed in the reception area and the open collaborative space. The baffles in the reception area in a warm sand finish and a striking blue jean finish for the open space. Not only do the baffles provide visual appeal, but they also have acoustic benefits to create a functional and collaborative work environment.
- Silentia Quietwall Acoustical Wall Panels in a bright green felt are utilized in this versatile space which can be used for pre-interview preparations and private meetings.
- Silentia Dimensional Networks are implemented in the bar area overlooking the lake. The open cell design and sleek color choice enrich this social space.
The project is a great example of how industrial aesthetics and functional design can coexist. With Maxxit’s Silentia acoustic solutions, the space delivers on both visual and practical fronts, ensuring a vibrant and comfortable workplace for employees to innovate and collaborate.
