Rising 29 storeys at 25 Ontario Street, the EQ Bank Tower is a 450,000 sq. ft. office development that seamlessly integrates modern innovation with historic architecture. At its base, the tower incorporates the preserved façade of a two-storey Art Deco building to create a striking contrast between heritage character and contemporary design.
Purpose-built for performance, the tower is equipped with state-of-the-art building systems including a raised floor office platform, advanced air distribution, and cutting-edge Smart Building technologies that support a connected, efficient workplace.
At the heart of the building is a dramatic multi-storey atrium lobby, which serves as a focal point and a welcoming, light-filled gathering space for tenants and visitors. Within this atrium, Maxxit created a custom LINE:Form Wave Baffle ceiling feature in extruded metal that flows overhead with rhythmic motion. The ceiling’s undulating form brings a dynamic sense of movement and architectural expression to the open space.
Finished in a warm wood veneer, the baffles offer a material counterpoint to the exposed cement walls, granite flooring, and structural pillars, softening the palette while maintaining a refined, modern aesthetic.
The EQ Bank Tower is LEED® Gold Core & Shell certified and is currently pursuing additional LEED® ID+C, LEED® O+M, and WELL Building Standard certifications, including WELL Optimization for Accessibility and Universal Design.
