Carbon Neutral by Design

Sustainability is embedded in how Maxxit designs and manufactures ceiling solutions. Through program certification by SCS Global Services, Maxxit has achieved Carbon Neutral Certification in accordance with ISO 14068—a significant milestone that is still uncommon in architectural manufacturing.

This certification verifies that the greenhouse gas emissions generated from our direct operations (Scope 1) and purchased energy used in our facility (Scope 2) have been measured, reduced where possible, and neutralized through verified carbon offsets.

By addressing these operational emissions, Maxxit ensures that the ceilings we manufacture are produced within a carbon-neutral operational footprint.

The Maxxit Carbon Neutral Story

Maxxit’s carbon neutral achievement reflects both intentional operational choices and the advantages of where we manufacture.

Our production facility in Ontario benefits from one of the lowest-carbon electricity grids in North America, largely powered by hydroelectric, nuclear, and other low-emission energy sources. This significantly reduces the carbon intensity of the electricity used to manufacture our products compared with many other manufacturing regions.

Combined with efficient manufacturing practices, responsible material sourcing, and verified carbon offsets, this low-carbon energy supply helps Maxxit maintain a carbon-neutral operational footprint. For architects and designers focused on sustainability, this means Maxxit ceiling systems can support lower embodied carbon project goals and green building certifications while maintaining the design flexibility and performance required in modern commercial spaces.

LEED & Specification Support

We align with LEED v5 priorities including embodied carbon, healthy materials, and circularity. We provide documentation like EPDs and material transparency reports to simplify sustainable specification.

LEED

Support for green building certifications.

EPDs

Transparency about product lifecycle impacts.

Greenguard

Indoor air quality certification for healthier spaces.

Maxxit’s Commitment to a Circular Economy

At Maxxit, sustainability is embedded in the design process. Our products are developed to support material efficiency, circularity, and long-term environmental performance in commercial interiors.

Design for Circularity

Products are conceived with circular economy principles, supporting reuse, recyclability, and responsible material sourcing.

Material Optimization

Material selection and system design reduce waste while maximizing efficiency across manufacturing and installation.

Lifecycle Performance

From production through end-of-life, products are evaluated to minimize landfill impact and environmental footprint.
