The revitalization of the World Exchange Plaza marks a significant transformation of this iconic Class AAA office complex, spanning an entire city block in the heart of Ottawa’s downtown core. Located just steps from Parliament Hill and the LRT station, this project introduces contemporary enhancements to the ground level, second-floor food court, outdoor plaza, and the newly added amenity spaces known as The Commons. Maxxit’s Protero ceiling solution is integral in reimagining interior spaces, combining innovative design with practical solutions:

• Custom T-Shaped Baffles: Located in the seating area on the ground level, the t-shaped baffle ceiling accents the cove lighting and adds contemporary sophistication and a sense of cohesion to the communal space.
• Custom Basketweave Ceiling: On the second floor, the seating area features a unique open cell basketweave design. This ceiling solution allows for seamless lighting, fire suppression, and security systems integration. The open cell design also ensures easy plenum access for future maintenance.
• Baffle Ceiling: Decorative ceiling baffles on Level 2 enhance the bridge area, creating visual interest while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic.
• Custom Feature Screen: A custom feature screen at the Metcalfe entrance serves as the dramatic centrepiece of the design, drawing attention with its dynamic form and elevating the space’s overall appeal. It also serves as a partition screen on Level 2 that separates the two spaces while letting in light.
